Solar Installers in Gauteng
Sized from your bill, installed by the people who fabricated the carport
Solar installers based in Alberton · working across Gauteng
A solar installation is mostly the things you cannot see.
Anyone can bolt panels to a roof. What decides whether your system is still running safely in five years is everything people do not photograph.
That hidden precision is where we are strongest. Long before we entered the solar industry, we specialized in smart home automation and commercial automation—making buildings intelligent and energy-efficient. Alongside that, our deep roots in custom steel fabrication made designing and building heavy-duty solar carports a breeze. When our team is on your property, you get professionals who do high-end structural and electrical work for a living, not a crew learning the ropes on your house.
- Correctly Sized DC Cabling: Sized precisely to the inverter’s actual rated charge current, never just "whatever is left on the van."
- Matched System Protection: Fuses and disconnects accurately paired to the cable rating, ensuring the safety mechanism trips exactly when it should.
- Cold-Weather String Voltage Checks: Calculated against the MPPT window for the coldest morning of the year—the exact moment an array is at risk of over-volting an inverter.
- Certified Earthing and CoC: Fully compliant bonding and a signed Certificate of Compliance from an accredited electrician who stands behind their work.

How an installation actually runs
-
First
Your bill, not a guess
The units on your last statement give us your daily average. From that we size the inverter, the bank and the array — before anyone visits, and before you commit to anything.
-
Then
A site survey
Roof type and pitch, orientation, shading through the day, where the DB board is and how far the battery has to sit from the inverter. This is where a sizing becomes a design.
-
Then
One fixed quote
Equipment, protection, cable, mounting, earthing, labour and the CoC, in one figure. If something is on back order we say so before you pay, not after.
-
Finally
Installed and signed off
Most residential systems are one to two days on site. You get the compliance certificate, the commissioning settings, and a walk through what the app is telling you.
Where we install
We call Meyersdal, Alberton home, which puts our team within easy reach of the East Rand and greater Johannesburg. The towns carrying a number are ones we have already worked in — tap or hover one to see what went in there. Do not see yours? We travel outside our usual radius for larger installations — get in touch and tell us where you are.

What is in the price
Every quote is the complete job. The reason we list it out is that a cheaper number usually means one of these has been left off, and you find out on the day.
- Inverter — Deye or Sunsynk, sized with headroom rather than to the limit
- Lithium batteries — sized on usable capacity, not the number on the box
- Panels and mounting — the kit that matches your roof: tile, IBR, corrugated or flat
- DC protection — combiner, breakers, surge protection
- AC protection board — the changeover and the essential-loads side
- Battery cable, lugs and fuses — sized to the rated charge current, not to habit
- Earthing — spike and bonding, the part most often skipped
- Delivery and installation — labour, consumables, trunking and fixings
- Certificate of Compliance — issued on completion
- Commissioning — settings, app set-up and a handover
About the Certificate of Compliance
A CoC is not paperwork you can add afterwards to a job that was done wrong. It is a registered person putting their name to the installation — and it matters in three places most people only think about later: your insurance, your municipality, and the day you sell the house.
Is the CoC included in this price, or billed separately — and who signs it?It is the fastest question there is for telling a contractor apart from a supplier with a bakkie. Ours is in the quoted price, and we issue it on completion.
Questions we get asked
"Photovoltaic" is a marriage of two words: "photo", meaning light, and "voltaic", meaning electricity. Photovoltaic (PV) panels form part of a complete solar system to generate energy from sunlight.
At the heart of this technology is a semi-conductor material which can be adapted to release electrons. The most common semi-conductor material used in photovoltaic cells is silicon, an element most commonly found in sand. Silicon is the second most abundant material on Earth.
Solar panels are made up of a series of cells. All these cells have two layers of semi-conductors: one positively charged and one negatively charged. When light shines on the semi-conductor, the electric field between these two layers causes electricity to flow, generating direct current.
The greater the intensity of the light, the greater the flow of electricity. A PV system does not need bright sunlight in order to operate; it can also generate electricity on cloudy days. Due to the reflection of sunlight, days with slight cloud can even result in higher energy yields than days with a completely cloudless sky.
With South Africa’s long sunny days, PV technology is the perfect way to generate power from such an available and renewable source.
Start with the loads that genuinely have to keep running, and how long they need to run for. It is not usually practical to back up everything: an oven, geyser and pool pump all draw heavily and would need a very large battery.
| Load | Power (W) | Hours | Duty factor | Daily (Wh) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lights | 200 | 5 | 1 | 1000 |
| Fridge | 150 | 24 | 0.3 | 1080 |
| Freezer | 150 | 24 | 0.2 | 720 |
| WiFi router | 10 | 24 | 1 | 240 |
| Phones | 50 | 1 | 1 | 100 |
| TV | 170 | 4 | 1 | 680 |
| Other | 100 | 24 | 1 | 2400 |
| Total | 6220 |
Then divide by 24 and multiply by the hours of backup you want, and divide by the battery’s allowed depth of discharge. For example 6220 Wh / 24 × 12 hours / 90% is roughly a 3.5 kWh battery.
Also check the battery can be fully recharged by your array on a typical winter day. A battery that is large relative to the PV system never fills, so it is never fully available when the grid goes down.
